| Roxann and I grew up in the countryside
of Central Pennsylvania. We continue to live in Central Pennsylvania
outside the small town of Lewisburg about 68 miles north of the state capital
of Harrisburg. We continue to enjoy the area very much. A little
bit country but not too far away from the city. At the junction of
PA Route 15 running North and South and Interstate 80 running East and
West we have quick access to major cities and many dog shows. We
share our love for animals and in 1985 were introduced to the Boxer Breed.
It was a shared and instant love affair. Since our introduction to
the Breed we have raised and shown several Boxers and have come to love
the Breed for the characteristics which all Boxer people love. We
came to know Betty Mentzer a breeder, judge, mentor, and most of all a
great friend. She and Roxann co-owned CH Bee-Mike’s Main Squeeze
and they bred her to CH Josha’s Linebacker. This mating produced
CH Bee- Mike’s One Night Stand, SOM (Jordan) and CH Bee-Mike’s On Broadway
(Tulie) a bitch which Roxann and I have had the privilege to own.
Since this introduction Roxann and I have been privileged to share our
lives with several Boxers and made many friends within the fancy.
In 2000 Roxann and I were introduced
to the world of the Doberman. Roxann had owned a black male Doberman
before I met her named “Thunder”. He was a special companion for
her and a very gentle and loving dog. However this was new ground
for me. My introduction came through Dr. John and Shirley Eck who
bred one of their bitches to CH Cambria’s Cactus Cash. This mating
produced a very nice litter. Each individual puppy demonstrated a lot of
potential, however, one little black bitch caught Roxann’s eye. As
I watched her she was one of the soundest moving animals I had ever seen.
Soon that little black bitch came to our house to share our lives.
“Beanie” as she is affectionately called quickly melted into our family
and our Boxer clan. CH Triadel’s Vanilla Bean was our first show
Doberman and she finished her show career and produced a fine litter of
puppies by CH Cha-rish Star Quest Blu-J’s (Hunter). Two puppies finished
quickly out of this litter and several others continue their show careers.
Roxann and I have come to love
both breeds. Each demonstrate an unmistakable quality, and character
which makes them the essence of the phrase...
"Man’s Best Friend”
